Just like Daddy

I love this picture. I found a pair of newborn shoes that looked just like my husbands work boots.
I know that Noah is going to grow up to be just like his daddy.

I feel like my little boy is growing so fast already. As every mother has told me, "they grow up so fast"
Well, yes that is true. When I delivered he was only 7 lb 10 oz. and only 6 short weeks later he
is almost 13lb. Big boy. But I can already see how much he has changed. Physically and his personality.
Im getting scared that I am going to miss or forget some of the cute little things that he does at this stage
but I know that I just have to cherish them while they last. I love my little boy and I can not
thank God enough for him. Looking so forward to a new year with my new little family.

a late birth announcement....

Im usually a little late with everything.... so this is normal. Almost 6 weeks later and I finally post his birth announcement. I had these printed up as photographs with a little thank you note on the side and saved myself so much money instead of printing them as a card or real birth announcement. I think they turned out pretty well. My sister thinks he looks like he is in a straight jacket but I think he looks adorable. He is all swaddled up in the miracle blanket. Has anyone ever used them? I think they work pretty well and there is nothing cuter than when my little boy is all swaddled up, perfectly content and staring at me with his beautiful little eyes.

This photo session was funny because he usually cries a little when I first put him in the blanket so I gave him a pacifier to calm him down, and he usually spits it out every 2 minutes. Well this particular time he decided he wanted to hold on to that binkie for dear life and wouldn't drop it! I had him all set up for the picture and had to wait there forever for him to drop it! I didn't want to take it from him either or this picture would have turned out a tad bit different! But baby boy finally let go and mamma snapped away. I think he's just cute as pie, but Im a bit bias. :)

confused

Im pretty sure this is the cutest thing I've ever seen.
Baby boy gets a little confused when he's hungry. Im sure he was disappointed to find out that
daddy's nose didn't produce any milk.

In September we were able to go visit my baby sister in Minnesota.
I have missed her so much and I feel so lucky that I was able to go. B and I drove up with my parents for about 5 days and we had such a good time. This was also the first time my sister had seen me since I was actually showing.

Baby Quilt

Wow, its about time I get back into posting on this little blog. I really do miss it. I just feel like I never have enough time or I am too lazy too. I would rather be napping. :) Hopefully I can allow myself to get back into the swing of things.

Anyway, I am currently 32 weeks along! So soon before little baby gets here. We are soooo excited. I almost have the nursery put together. We got a crib at a garage sale for $20. A dresser at a garage sale for $20 that my dad refinished and painted for us. I just found a perfect wooden glider at a rummage sale for $10 yesterday and its all coming together. Just need to make some wall art and finish a few projects and it will be all ready for baby!

I made this quilt this past weekend. (pictured above) One of my co-workers is also pregnant, just one month behind me. So we got together and made little quilts for our new little ones. So glad we did because I would have given up half way through if I had been by myself. Its harder to work on something for more than and hour or two these days.  Anyway, I love the way it turned out and I just think the button pattern is adorable!!

Back to work tomorrow. B and I just finished watching Forks over Knives. Love it. Check it out it will open some eyes. Too much good information. Have a great night!

Its been raining non-stop yesterday and now today. But I guess its not the crazy lightning so we
should be ok. We had our family reunion yesterday and thank God for the pavilion that kept up all dry. It was still a blast and good to see family. Now im off to get ready for the fest. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Getting things done

Today is a day to get things done. I have been so overwhelmed the past few months. Constantly thinking of everything I need to finish and accomplish before the baby gets here. Yesterday the Hubbs and I were able to accomplish a lot in the house. We did a spring cleaning on our bedroom and finally hung the headboard that my mom and I made a few months ago. I did a lot of cleaning closets and what not. And Hubby put up the crib!!! The crib that my mom and I scored for $20 at a garage sale! Sweet. It is good as new and I loveeee it! Seeing it in the room makes this little adventure feel all the more real. :)

Today Brandon is working Lollapalooza all day so im heading out to my moms to work on a few more projects. We are in the middle of finishing up and painting 2 dressers that we got at resale shops and garage sales. Well, my dad is pretty much doing all the work. Hehe. Ill show pics of all our little projects later but Im just so glad everything is coming together. We still have a ton of work to finish in these last three months but Im going to try not to stress about it. Have a wonderful day!

T-Storms

This picture was from a few weeks ago. I wish I could say it
was today, but today is all about this crazy loud thunderstorm that is bound to make
me pee my pants at some point today. Im home alone and woke up from what
sounded like ten explosions at once. Just thunder.
Every time I see the lightning I cringe and just wait for it. And even though I know its coming, my heart drops when it does and my mind starts making things up. 'Oh no, im pretty sure that one hit the antenna and my house it on fire.' Pretty logical.
Some people love storms but I just get so creeped out by them.

On a lighter note. I just made a super sweet strawberry banana and chia seed smoothie.
Yummmm. Today I am going to try to water marbel my nails. Ohhh Fun. :)

20 Weeks :)

Tuesday, June 21, 2011

Almost half way there!

'

Im actually 19 weeks right now. I've been behind lately with pictures but im proud of myself for somewhat keeping up. I usually have to wait until im actually doing something so I look decent. I pretty much wear scrubs to work everyday and then come home and change into my pjs! How cool am I!

But guess what! This preggie lady has a big night on Saturday! Before we found out about our little bean we bought tickets to see Matt and Kim. Its been a long time coming and I contemplated selling my ticket just because i wasnt sure how I would be feeling but there is no way im giving that up!

Anyway were under a tornado warning right now. Husband is on a call so im sitting here by myself all creeped out by the craziness of the trees blowing. I lit candles in every room and got a bunch of stuff together just in case the power goes out. Im no good in the dark.

Im trying to watch this radar thing so I know if its coming for me but all i see are pretty colors and movements. Oh well. I hope everyone has a great night!

Catch up! again...

I'm having too much fun being pregnant. Aside from the laziness and that Im tired all of the time, its pretty awesome. I am still so in awe of the little person growing inside. Its hard to believe its real. I always knew I wanted kids but I guess I never actually pictured the pregnancy part of it and its just pretty
surreal. Husband and I are soo excited.

Im feeling great now although it is getting harder to bend over now. lol. I hope everyone has a wonderful fathers day. A shout out to my seriously amazing father.

Daddio- I love you more than words. Happy Fathers Day

Finding Out

One night I had a random tickling to take a test. We were not trying at all but i was a few weeks late and decided I should give it a go. I had taken many tests before so I assumed it would be routine. I was home by myself and when I actually saw the pink and blue lines I didn't really know how to react at first. I didn't really believe it and as time passed all I kept doing was catching myself smiling and thinking wow, this could be real.

The only reason we were waiting was for more financial stability, but as everyone will tell you "there will never be a good time to start a family so just go for it." And I truly believe that God will provide. I found myself getting more and more excited as the night went on and I couldn't wait to tell my husband. He has wanted a baby since the day we got married!

Part of me wishes we could have found out together but like I said, I didnt think it would be positive. When he finally got home I couldn't help my smile. And at first I didn't know how to tell him. I kind of studdered for a few minutes and finally just showed him the test. And if I remember correctly this is how it went.

Me: Babe, umm, soooo, uhhh, here.....

B: what? are you kidding me? don't joke with me.
Me: what? im not joking
B: If your joking with me im going to be really upset. Are you serious?
Me: yep im serious
B: omg

And then came the tears. I love to see my husband that happy. That was one of those awesomely beautiful moments you wished you had on camera.

Then we decided to go to target and clear the shelves of their pregnancy tests "just to be sure"

8 tests later, and one dr. visit and we were rollin!

We could no be happier. It's a feeling I never knew existed and Im so happy I get to share this with my best friend.

Planning our honeymoon

Honeymoon #3 that is.
Husband and I will be married for 2 whole years this July.

I still think its a load of crap that we had to start over counting.
We will technically be celebrating 7 years in December. But whose counting :)

Anyway. We originally wanted to go to Cornerstone this year. We went about 4-5 years ago and it was awesome. However, we both can't make it on that date. So I've been looking up similar festivals and narrowed it down to 2 that are in our driving distance.

Ichthus Festival We are soooo excited about this one. Its in Kentucky, about 6 hours south. There are so many amazing bands and speakers but husband has to work that weekend and it is extremely hard for him to get someone to cover for him. We are still hoping for it but we'll see.
We would get to see- Anberlin, The Wedding!!!!!, Thousand Foot Krutch, Chris Tomlin, and The Almost. eeeeekkk!

Alive Festival Its in Ohio so it will be a fun little road trip. We would get to see Anberlin, Switchfoot, and Third Day!!! This one we can make for sure, our fall back. It doesn't have as many bands as we wanted to see but im sure we will get to hear so many awesome new ones and sometimes thats just as good. Plus this one is on the Lake. Ooooooo

If you have never been to a festival like this and its kinda how you roll, I highly recommend you check one out. It is a weekend full of faith, music, crazy fun people, camping and just plain awesomeness. (exclude port-o-john from awesomeness) Go here to find one in your neck of the woods.

Here's what we did on our 1st and 2nd honeymoon. This year will be a bit less adventurous but just as fun.

Im just so excited and I can't wait to get away for a bit with my Honey. Lord knows we need it.

Mammaaaaa Oo-Oo-Ooooooooooo

This is my beautiful mother.
I think I bragged about her enough last year
So ill keep this short.
Im not sure where I would be without her
And each and every day she surprises me more and more
Just when I think she couldn't be more humble, gracious, and beautiful
She does something that proves me wrong.
I will never be able to give her enough thanks for what she has done for me in this life
but I just hope she knows that I am forever grateful
and I can only hope to be half as good a mother as she is.
I love you Mom.
